The City is revolutionising how they employ unemployed youth, through Jozi@work youth are contracted over a 12 week period and then capacitated (train, equip, support) and by the University of Johannesburg and Resolution Circle. Teaching the youth fundamental business, personal and digital skills for them to empower themselves as micro enterprises while providing their services to the city.

Over 1,800+ unemployed youth have already been contracted and trained to become micro enterprises.   These go-getters known as Jozi Digital Ambassadors train Jozi residents on how to connect to the City’s free WiFi and utilise online services on the Maru A Jozi Portal. They are then rewarded for each successful resident they train.
